Bangalore, India. Mumbia, India. Ottawa, Canada. Orlando, Florida. These are just a few of the great cities around the world that have hosted Kandy.io Hackathon’s in 2016. The innovation that we have seen come from these hacks have been nothing short of phenomenal – from advanced home security to making government projects more accessible to local citizenry, the creativity of the apps built on Kandy has been remarkable.
Now this summer we’re taking the Kandy Hackathon to the beautiful Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. We will be teaming up with one of the longest running conferences in the region, CANTO, to allow local developers to put their coding skills to the test leveraging APIs from one of the leading platforms on the market. The 32nd annual CANTO Conference and Trade Exhibition has chosen Kandy.io as the communications platform of choice for the conference’s second annual C.O.D.E 2.0 Hackathon.
At C.O.D.E. 2.0, teams of programmers will compete to create the most ground-breaking ICT technology through 48 hours of non-stop coding. Teams will be asked to develop solutions designed to address unique real-world problems using the Kandy platform. The competition will give programmers the opportunity to utilize Kandy’s real-time communications software development platform APIs, including voice, video, text and collaboration capabilities, to generate future integrated communications applications.
As was the case with our participants in India, Canada and Florida, the C.O.D.E. 2.0 Hackathon will be an exciting event for everyone. Not only will it deliver a memorable experience for participants and observers, but it will also provide the opportunity to create practical products or services that will aid the Caribbean area.
The C.O.D.E. 2.0 Hackathon will take place August 1st– 3rd at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel & Casino in the city of Old San Juan. I can’t wait to see all of the cool apps that will be developed.
We on the Kandy team like to say, “if you can imagine it – it can be built.” I’ll be sure to update you on the awesome ideas and apps the C.O.D.E 2.0 teams come up with in a post-conference blog post.
I hope to see you in Puerto Rico!
